Full guidelines for presenters and facilitators will be provided on the abstract submission form and brief descriptions of the different formats are provided below.
- Presentation formats should be clearly either papers, symposia, workshops, special interest groups, posters and e-posters, and;
- Should be linked to conference themes by title and content.
- Papers aim to present and disseminate research and information - 20 minutes
- Generally, paper sessions are not interactive. Delegates expect to receive information from the presenter(s); and then to have an opportunity to ask questions, and perhaps, if time allows, to engage in some discussion arising out of the paper.
- Workshops are intended to share experience and develop practice - 90 minutes
- The role of the workshop facilitator(s) is to ensure the smooth running of the workshop and to enable experience to be shared and reviewed, and practice developed in the relevant area of learning and teaching, research and practice.
- Symposia allow for an informed in-depth discussion of themes - 90 minutes
- The lead presenter submits an abstract for two or three presentations around a theme followed by a group discussion.
- Special Interest Groups provide the opportunity for individuals or organisations to arrange a discussion forum allied to the themes of the conference – 90 minutes.
- Posters and E-posters. Poster Session allows participants to explore your displayed research or information and discuss it with you one-on-one. E-posters will work in a similar way to traditional posters, except that you will demonstrate your work in real-time via a laptop computer.
